Book Review: Ashes to Beauty

Ashes to Beauty

The Real Cinderella Story

A Fairytale for Girls of All Ages

I am in the midst of reading a new book by Robert A. Schuler for the purpose of writing a review before the book’s debut in May. However, I received a book in the mail yesterday with a title and artwork that intrigued me to the point of setting Schuler’s book aside and reading this one.

“Ashes to Beauty – The Real Cinderella Story – A Fairytale for Girls of All Ages” is a most delightful book. Kim Zweygardt has taken the fairytale that we knew as young girls and developed it into a moving and meaningful allegory of the beauty God truly sees in us. It is the story of deep, unconditional Love pursuing His beloved.

“Ashes to Beauty” is illustrated by Kim’s husband, Kary. His beautifully detailed artwork sets the stage for the pursuit—the hearts’ desire of girls of all ages. We want to be pursued. We want to be beautiful. We want to be loved. “Ashes to Beauty” shows that we are all of those things to God.

This small book with a huge message should become a part of every woman’s library. And it should be shared with your daughters, granddaughters, nieces, and friends. You will be blessed.
